Privacy and personal information

The University requests certain personal information when you submit a project idea for partnering. This information is requested so that we can:

  • contact you about the project;
  • provide your contact details to students, University staff and/or community members who wish to join your project;
  • we may also use some of your personal information for internal auditing, reporting or program evaluations; and
  • provide your name and contact details to a contractor or consultant for auditing, reporting or evaluation purposes.

When storing your personal information electronically, the University may disclose your personal information to overseas recipients by virtue of its cloud computing arrangements. The ‘cloud’ servers are located in Hong Kong, Singapore and Ireland and we are reasonably satisfied that these countries have similar privacy protections to those afforded under Australian law. We will not disclose your personal information to anybody else unless we are required to do so by law.

Providing us with the requested information is not required by law. However if you choose not to provide us with the requested information, we cannot accept your project proposal.
